May 24, 2007

Women of Spirit badgeLOUISVILLE, KY (May 24, 2007) Morton's The Steakhouse announced today that it has recognized Cyndi Masters as Louisville's 2007 "Woman of Spirit." Masters joins 37 other women across the country who have been selected for their exceptional commitment to volunteerism and service.

Masters has been described as "an amazing woman who never stops giving," despite significant health problems and having survived breast cancer. During one hospitalization Masters founded DBS>Interactive and the company is one of a few women-owned technology companies in the country. Her contribution to community service includes volunteer work for MDA Louisville, Maryhurst, Bliss House, Volunteers of America, Sadie's Animal Rescue and Adoption, Kentucky Harvest, Wayside Christian Mission, LaGrange Reformatory, and Jefferson County Public Schools.

Masters also believes in giving back to the community and allocates 10% of profits from her company, DBS>Interactive, to non-profit agencies. Masters has also been a board member for Brain Injury Association of Kentucky, Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and she is past president of the Deaf Community Center. The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) also recognized Masters in 2006 with a "Woman of Distinction" award.

Morton's The Steakhouse Louisville will honor Masters and others like her at a fundraising dinner to benefit the American Red Cross on Friday, June 8th. The event will be hosted by Bonterra Winemaster Nichole Birdsall. Edie Ames, president of Morton's The Steakhouse, will attend the Louisville event, which will be held on June 8, 2007 at Morton's.

In addition to recognizing Kentuckiana's "Woman of Spirit," Birdsall will speak about the wine selections featured that evening, give her personal philosophy on wine, and talk about Bonterra's organic approach to wines. Bonterra wines are made from 100% organically grown grapes. The wine is in the Brown-Forman portfolio of brands.

The wine dinners will be priced at $150 per person and Morton's will donate a portion of each ticket sold to the American Red Cross. The 38-city wine dinner tour will conclude in late September with an "all-star" gala event honoring America's "Women of Spirit" and the American Red Cross, to be held in Washington, DC, at the Morton's in Georgetown, which will also be celebrating its 25th anniversary. This culmination event promises to attract an RSVP list of nationally-known political, entertainment and media personalities.
