Web Development
Development is not an event, it's a process
Thoughtful sites don't just happen, they are planned. We begin each project with detailed research and discovery, in order to bring a thorough understanding of your business and the people you are trying to reach. After brainstorming internally on creative direction, we then set about drafting flow charts for intuitive navigation and wireframes for logical layout. Each of these steps is then refined and approved by the client before we tackle the next. Sometimes we refer to this as "Information Architecture", other times simply "the way all sites should be built."
We believe the internet was created for everyone and apply the highest standards of accessibility to our designs
XHTML/CSS
We develop websites that strictly adhere to the web standards for accessibility as determined by the Worldwide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines allows us to build websites which are fully accessible to a larger majority of users on the web, regardless of the browser or the computer platform being used. Web browsers have changed along with web technology and the requirements for accessibility have changed as well.
To address the growing needs for website accessibility, the Web Standards Project (WaSP) was formed to update the standards for accessibility guidelines. These guidelines include the strict adherence to CSS and XHTML for fully accessible websites.
In addition to the guidelines established by the W3C and WaSP, we also adhere to the recommended guidelines established by the ADA for website design, which allows our sites to be accessible by those users who are blind or have visual disabilities.
Browser Testing
There are a variety of browsers used by Internet users today. Additionally, users can access the Internet from either a PC or a Mac platform. Each browser and platform interprets the code for your web pages differently. DBS>Interactive validates your website for W3C (web standards) compliance as well as testing the site in the most popular browsers (including the most current versions of Internet Explorer, Mozilla/Firefox, and Safari).
While it is impossible to develop code that is compatible with every version of every browser, our testing process ensures that your website can be accessed and navigated by the vast majority of internet users on both platforms.
